Pipe Flow Rate Calculator

Calculate the volumetric flow rate of a fluid moving through a pipe.

Flow Rate Formula

The flow rate (Q) is calculated by multiplying the cross-sectional area (A) of the pipe by the average velocity (v) of the fluid.

Q = A × v
A = π × (ID/2)²

Typical Velocities:

  • Water (Suction): 0.5 - 1.0 m/s
  • Water (Discharge): 1.5 - 3.0 m/s
